Your kids will stretch their muscles - and their minds!

Long-time Hoboken Charter School teachers Chris Kunkel and Kevin Flynn will co-lead this program. During the school year, Mr. Kunkel teaches math and Mr. Flynn teaches PE and health. Both have extensive experience leading day camps in addition to their school experience - Mr. Kunkel has run the HCS summer camp for the last eleven years while Mr. Flynn can often be found during the summer at the popular Deerkill Day Camp.

Schedule of Activities:

Students will be split into two groups during the morning. We will alternate between sports and hands-on STEM activities. Each day kids will get to play different sports including floor hockey, basketball, European handball, soccer, scooter ball, pin dodge, and gymnastics. During STEM time students will engage in a variety of activities that will include designing and printing objects using our school's MakerBot, learning to code, building and using our robotics material. In the afternoon they will complete hands-on engineering design challenges and play big group games.

Here are the details you need to know:

- The camp activities are designed for students currently in Kindergarten - 8th grade
- Drop-off is 8:10am, pickup is 4:00 pm.
- Snacks and lunch will need to be brought from home - There is no food service during this week.
- Our rate is $400 for the week.
- Payment in full is required to reserve your child's spots. Sorry, there are no day-by-day rates or scholarships. Payments are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Profits from the program go to support other school activities.
- Sports and STEM is subject to both a minimum and maximum enrollment. If we do not hit our minimum we will need to cancel. If we hit our maximum we will close registration. Please register early to help us plan.
- Although the program is held at Hoboken Charter School, it is not part of HCS's regular educational program. Therefore, a school nurse will not be on staff.
- The registration and payment deadline is January 21, 2022.
- We will follow the same safety protocols as regular school including quarantine. If your child needs to quarantine due to exposure, refunds will not be issued.
